WOMEN, WINE & WISDOM...TO GO

| March 01, 2017

We would like to extend a huge “thank you” to everyone who joined us on Tuesday, February 21st, for our monthly Women, Wine & Wisdom event. We had a great turnout and enjoyed an engaging talk and discussion on all things to do with Life Insurance. Some key takeaways from the evening were:

  • There are many different types of life insurance, the main ones being Term (provides coverage for a certain time period) and Permanent – which includes Whole Life (provides lifelong coverage). Within these 2 brackets there are several further options and a huge variety of products all with slightly different options, benefits and terms. Contact us to have a chat about your insurance needs and what products are best suited to protect you and your loved ones.

  • Even if you think you are uninsurable, there may well be a policy out there that will give you coverage. There are a vast number of providers offering a wide variety of products to suit many needs.

  • Stay at home parents have worth too. You may think you don’t need any coverage simply because you don’t bring in an income but consider the cost of before and after school care, summer camps, transportation costs and much more if something were to happen to you.

  • Just because you don’t have dependents it doesn’t mean you don’t need coverage. Are you co-signed on any loans? Do you want to protect your business? Would you like to leave a legacy to a cause you are passionate about? It is also much cheaper to buy a policy while you are young, and healthy but make sure you re-evaluate it after any major life events.

  • Parents may wish to consider insurance to cover their children’s student loans. If you co-signed for the loans and something happens to your child you may be responsible for their debt.

  • Keep your beneficiaries up to date!

  • Consider disability insurance, you are more likely to become disabled than die when you are still in your working years.

  • There are many hybrid options for Long Term Care Insurance which leave a benefit to your heirs if you don’t use the coverage for care.

Insurance is a huge topic which understandably leads to many questions. On our website we have an array of calculators which may help you answer some of them but we welcome your inquiries if you have further questions.
